The only way to join IAF after 12th science class is to get into the National Defense Academy (NDA).
You should appear and qualify in the NDA entrance examination to join Indian Air Force as a Pilot. This exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year in all the major cities throughout India.
Eligibility Criteria to Join Indian Air Force after HSc:
You have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Age – If you want to join Indian Air Force as Flying Officer after the 10+2 Science stream, your age should be between 16½-19 years at the time when the course starts at NDA.
Nationality – For NDA Entrance Exam, a candidate must be an Indian.
Gender - This mode of entry is applicable only to men. Only male candidates are eligible to apply for the 10+2 entry scheme to become Flying Officers.
Educational Qualifications –
(a) You should pass 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as your main subjects from any Central/State recognized Education Institution
(b) You will also be eligible if you are appearing for your Class 12th examination.
Advertisement Schedule -
This examination is held by UPSC twice a year. Generally, the advertisements are released by UPSC (upsc.gov.in) in May and December each year.

The selection procedure for the post of IAF pilot after 12th Science (careerairforce.nic.in) is as follows-
(a) The UPSC conducts the NDA entrance (National Defense Academy) exam.
(b) After clearing this exam you undergo a rigorous three-year training regimen at the National Defense Academy at Khadakwasla.
(c) There will be flying training at Air Force Training establishments after NDA Training.
(d) On successful completion of the training, you will be commissioned as "permanent commission officers" and be posted as a Pilot at any of the Air Force Stations.
There will be a written examination test comprising two parts:
Part 1 is a Math-based test and you should have authority in maths to face this test.
Part 2 is meant for the General Ability Test containing English, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, General Knowledge, and Current Events. The duration of both papers is 2 ½ hours each. Both the papers will be of multiple choice objective types and comprise questions. You should note that there will be negative marking.

#2. SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview:
After successful completion of the UPSC written exam, you will have to appear for a two stages interview which will be conducted by the Services Selection Board. In Stage 1 the interview, there will be a Picture perception and discussion test and an Officer Intelligence Rating Test.You will be subjected to Stage 2 only after qualifying in stage 1 of the interview. Stage 2 will be consisting of Psychological tests conducted by a psychologist for group tasks and a personal interview.

#3. Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT):
As you want to get into the Flying Branch of the Air Force, you will also have to appear for the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT), after qualifying for the interview. In this PABT test they evaluate you on the basis of your ability to read instruments; control of your actions and mental strength, this test will include both written and machine tests.
This PABT test of the NDA exam is meant to check whether a candidate has the potential to become a good pilot or not and you can only appear for the PABT exam once in a lifetime.

#4. Medical Checkup:
After successful completion of the PABT, you will be sent for medical examinations to prepare the final list of the successful aspirants. It is noticed that, compared to other wings of the Armed Forces, Air Force demands more in terms of physical and medical requirements.
The candidates who are found qualified in the medical tests are then taken into consideration for making the merit list. To prepare the merit list, the marks a candidate scored in (a) NDA written test, (b) SSB Interview, (c) PABT, and (d) Medical examination is taken into account. And based on this merit list, students are accepted into the Air Force wing.
#5. Training at NDA:
After the final selection, candidates are given 3 years of training at NDA, along with Army and Navy Cadets.
#6. Training at Airforce Academy:
On successfully completing the 3-year training at NDA, the Air Force cadets are sent to Air Force Academy located in Hyderabad, for further 1-year training.
#6. Commissioned as Flying Officers in Indian Airforce:
Finally, after successfully completing this training at Air Force Academy, the candidates are commissioned as Flying Officers in the Indian Air Force. This is how a 12th pass student can join Indian Air Force as a pilot to fulfill his dream and serve the nation.
It is to be noted that candidates who have failed INST (Institute of Nano Science and Technology) or PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) earlier will not be eligible to join the Air Force.

Recommended Physical Standards to Join Indian Air Force as a pilot:
1. To be a part of IAF, You must have good physical and mental health and be free from any disability.
2. The minimum range of expansion of your chest after full inspiration should be 5 cm.
3. Your Spinal Conditions should be good.
4. You should fulfill the Eyesight requirements. You must have good binocular vision.
5. Ocular Muscle Balance
6. You will be disqualified if any disease of bones and joints of the body is found.
7. Your hearing capacity should be normal and there should be no evidence of present or past disease of the ear, nose, and throat.
8. To join IAF as a pilot, you should have adequate numbers of normal and sound teeth. You should not be suffering from a disease like severe pyorrhea.
