Eligibility Conditions for Technical Branch:
You have to fulfill the below conditions to be eligibile for the Technical Branch of AFCAT ( Air For Common Admission Test) this year,These conditions include the prescribed age limit, educational qualifications, physical fitness, medical conditions.


AFCAT Technical Branch Age Limit:

To apply for AFCAT Technical branch recruitment, your age should be between 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2018.



Educational Qualifications:

(i) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}:

To be a part of Technical Branch of IAF through AFCAT you should be a graduate of four year graduation / integrated post- graduation qualification in Engineering / Technology from recognised University. minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of

or you can also apply if cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

  2. Computer Engineering / Technology 
  3. Computer Engineering & Application 
  4. Computer Science and Engineering / Technology 
  5. Electrical and Computer Engineering 
  6. Electrical and Electronics Engineering

  9. Electronics Science and Engineering 
  10. Electronics 
  11. Electronics and Communication Engineering 
  12. Electronics and Computer Science 
  13. Electronics and / or Telecommunication Engineering 
  14. Electronics and / or Telecommunication Engineering (Microwave) 
  15. Electronics and Computer Engineering 
  16. Electronics Communication and Instrumentation Engineering 
  17. Electronics Instrument & Control 
  18. Electronics Instrument & Control Engineering

ii) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)} :

You can apply for AFCAT Technical Branch if you have minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four year graduation or integrated post- graduation qualification in Engineering or Technology from recognised University.

or if you have cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

  9. Industrial Engineering. 

Physical Standards:

For AFCAT Technical Branch, your physical standard should be as follows -

Minimum height: Men -157.5 Cms, Women:-152 Cms with correlated weight.



Medical Criteria:

All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final. 4.
