Eligibility Conditions for AFCAT Ground Duty Branch


If you are interested in Indian Air Force Jobs, here is a good chance for you. IAF has announced a notification for filling up various Commissioned Officers for Flying Branch, Technical Branch, and Ground Branches.

You should go through Air Force Common Admission Test to get selected as a commissioned officer.

Eligibility Conditions for AFCAT Ground Duty Branches:

Here are complete eligibility criteria for AFCAT Ground Duty Branches for 2022 including age, educational qualifications, physical; standards, height, weight, vision, etc. See below if you are eligible for the posts.


Required Age: 


To get selected for AFCAT your age must be between 20 years to 26 years.


Educational Qualification for AFCAT Ground Duty Branches:

For AFCAT Recruitment, Educational Qualification is different for each category.


(i) Administration & Logistics:

To Join this section of IAF required a Graduate Degree in a Minimum three-year degree course in any discipline from a recognized university. You should have passed with 60% marks or equivalent.

or you should have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent


(ii) Accounts:

As educational qualification for Accounts section, a B. Com. Degree in Minimum three-year degree course from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent is needed.

(iii) Education:

For joining of Education Section of the Ground Duty Branch, you should have an MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. All paper put together in Post Graduation (Minimum two-year program) and 60% marks in graduation (both recognized by UGC / Competent Accreditation Authority) in the following subjects -
  1. English 
  2. Physics 
  3. Mathematics 
  4. Chemistry 
  5. Statistics 
  6. International relations 
  7. International studies 
  8. Defence studies 
  9. Psychology 
  10. Computer Science 
  11. IT 
  12. Management 
  13. Mass Communication 
  14. Journalism 
  15. Public Relation

Note :
Candidates appearing in final year/semester examinations may apply for all courses commencing in January 2022 provided they fulfill the following conditions:-

  1. Candidates should not have any present backlog and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks up to the last semester/year for which results have been declared at the time of online submission and at the time of SSB. 
  2. Candidates should be able to provide provisional/original degree certificates issued by University.


Physical Standards:

Height and Weight: Minimum height: - Men - 157.5 Cms, Women:- 152 Cms with correlated weight.



Other Medical Criteria:

All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.
