Official Syllabus And IBPS PO Cut-off Marks for 2016

Nature of IBPS PO Exam 2016 CWE  And  Online Examinations:

To get a bank job through IBPS PO Exam 2016 notification, you should have qualify in 03 (three) various stages of tests. All the three stages are compulsory for a candidate. You must get the  IBPS PO Cut-off Marks to be qualified for the job.

The structure of the Examinations which will be conducted online and offline are as follows:

a. Preliminary Examination
b. Main Examination
c. Interview




Syllabus for IBPS PO Preliminary Exam 2016 (CWE):

 IBPS PO Cut-off Marks


IBPS PO exam 2016 Preliminary or Common Written Test is compulsory for all the candidates. After qualifying in this exam, you can sit for the main online exam.


CWE is a qualifying exam. Marks obtained in the preliminary exam is not added to produce the final merit list.


Syllabus for IBPS PO exam 2016 preliminary exam is as follows-

1. English Language:

     Maximum Marks-30


2. Quantitative Aptitude: 
     No. of Qs-35
      Maximum Marks-35


3. Reasoning Ability:

    Maximum Marks-35


Total No. of Qs-100
Maximum Marks-100
Duration-Composite time of 1 hour


Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests of IBPS PO examination 2016 by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.

Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

This is the main exam of IBPS PO exam 2016 process. The main exam will be held online. You should answer the problems on a computer over internet.

Marks obtained in IBPS Main exam will decide your next step. Candidates qualifying in this exam with the required cut-off marks are eligible for the final stage of this exam process.

Only after getting the required cut-off marks, you will be called for the Interview.


Official syllabus for IBPS main exam is as follows-

1. Reasoning:
No. of Questions-50
Maximum Marks-50
Time allotted-40 minutes


2. English Language: 
No. of Questions-40
Maximum Marks-40
Time allotted-30 minutes


3. Quantitative Aptitude:
No. of Questions-50
Maximum Marks-50
Time allotted-40 minutes


4. General Awareness (with special reference to Banking): 
No. of Questions-40
Maximum Marks-40
Time allotted-20 minutes


5. Computer Knowledge:
No. of Questions-20
Maximum Marks-20
Time allotted-10 minutes




Total No. of Questions-200
Maximum Marks-200
Total time allotted-140 minutes




Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge paper will be bi-language. You have option to answer in English or Hindi.

Penalty for Wrong Answers in IBPS PO exam 2016:

When answering the questions, be sincere.  It is seems that, IBPS gives penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. 

If you give a wrong answer, one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted from your marks. This penalty system is applicable for both preliminary and main exams.

If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.



Examination Centres for IBPS PO exam 2016:

The examination will be conducted online in venues across many centers in India.

The tentative list of Examination centres for the Preliminary exams is available in Annexure II of the notification for IBPS.


But, the centers for the Main Examination will be limited.





Cut-off Marks for IBPS PO exam Online main examination 2016:

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview.

Depending on the number of vacancies available,  IBPS PO Cut-off Marks will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview.

Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.
