#1 Know the Syllabus:

If you are serious about your SSC Exam Preparation, the first thing you have to follow is to get complete knowledge of the exam pattern and the syllabus. You should know the syllabus to avoid losing your valuable time studying topics which are not related to your exam.

You know that this exam is going to be held in three tiers. These three tiers are different in nature and their syllabus is also different.

There will be-
  • A computer based written examination (Tier I)
  • Descriptive paper (Tier II)
  • Typing Test/Skill Test (Tier III)

Tier I:

At first I will tell you about Tier I Syllabus. This is a computer based exam. In this test you have to answer multiple choice questions from total four sections.

You will find this section as the easiest of all the section if you have a you have strong cramming power. In this section you can score maximum marks in less time.
To prepare this section you have to feed up with a regular update and complete knowledge.


You may find it easy if you read a newspaper on a regular basis. Thus you can keep yourself updated with every facts.
  • Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society.
  • Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. 
  • The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
Questions in this section are aimed at testing the candidates around him/her and its application to the society.

It is most important to keep an eye on latest happenings and read a daily newspaper to keep an updated with the latest happenings. You may also watch news on TV, connect with social media etc.





This section is very tough for them who don't do practice regularly.You should strengthen your conceptual base and try to test your Intelligence regularly through practice sets.

This is the most difficult section in the syllabus of SSC CHSL Exam. You can not score good if you have not good authority on the basic rules of Maths, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry Mensuration, Statistics etc.

This section is most time consuming and therefore practice is the only way to score good marks in this section.

The SSC CHSL question papers in this section will be designed to test the ability of candidates in appropriate use of numbers and numerical sense.

  • Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers 
  • Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work. 
  • Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin20 + Cos20=1 etc., Statistical Charts : Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar- diagram, Pie-chart
  • Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations. 
  • Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centers, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles. Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base

Tier II Syllabus:

This part of SSC Higher secondary level Exam will check your knowledge of English/Hindi Language. 

If you have-
  • Writing Skills (Essay, Paragraph, Expansion of Ideas, Precis, Report Writing, Letter Writing and Descriptive Comprehension), 
  • Verbal Skills, 
  • Grammar Skills then you can score good in this section.



Tier III syllabus:


  • This test will check your practical knowledge on a specific subject.




#2 Collect Study Materials:
