#1 Eligibility Criteria for Indian Air Force Job after 12th


You should fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility conditions to get a job in Indian Air force.


Educational Qualification for 12th pass job in Indian Air Force:

You should pass 12th Class of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics from a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

Nationality for Indian air force jobs after 12th:


To apply for IAF jobs after 12th, a candidate must either be:

(i) a citizen of India, or

(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or

(iii) a subject of Nepal, or

(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.


Age:

As per UPSC Notification, your age should be between 16 ½ to 19 years to apply for NDA. This age will be count at the time of commencement of NDA course.


Gender:

Only a boy can apply for this job.


Marital status:

If you are an unmarried person, you can apply for this job.


Physical Fitness for Indian air force jobs after 12th:

You must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy.

 You must be in good mental health and free from any disease or disability which is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of Military duties.

There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or underweight. The Candidate should not be overweight or obese.


#2 UPSC Entrance Exam For NDA Admission


To get into NDA, you have to pass in the UPSC Entrance Exam. This examination is held twice a year. Check for the advertisement released by UPSC on May and December of each year.

Candidates should secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in (i) Written examination and (ii) Officer Potentiality Test as fixed by the Services Selection Board at their discretion.

1. Written papers (mathematics and General ability test) are designed according to NDA Syllabus.
You will face objective type questions in these papers.

There will be two stages in the written exam. One paper will be of Mathematics for 300 marks and another of general ability test for 600 marks.

Both the Papers (Except the English Language) will be in bilingual. You will get an option to choose either English/Hindi.

You have to study Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, General Awareness,  Geography etc. to get the best result.

2. The main part of the entrance exam is the SSB Interview or SSB Tests.

This part is designed to test your intelligence, personality, your capacity as a group leader etc.

#3 Medical Tests for IAF candidates


After recommended by the Services Selection Board, you will undergo a medical examination process.

If the Board of Service Medical Officers declares you fit for Indian Airforce jobs, you will be admitted to the National Defence Academy.

It is better to rectify minor defects or ailments in order to speed up finalization of medical examination.

#4 Training at NDA and AFA

If the medical officials certify you as fit for NDA, you will get the chance to join the training academy.

The final list is prepared on the basis of your performance in the written exam + SSB Interview + Medical examination.

Period of training in NDA is of three years. The NDA campus is located about 17 km southwest of Pune city. It is located at northwest of Khadakwasla Lake.

The Air Force Training Team (AFTT) aims at training Air Force cadets in the basics of military aviation through ground training and flying training. Ground training is conducted with the help of modern training aids, aircraft models, and cross-sectional models of aero-engines and instruments, Radio Telephony simulators and Flight simulators. Flying training consists of a minimum of eight sorties on the Super Dimona aircraft. Cadets also get an exposure to deflection firing through Skeet shooting. Visits to key Air Force training establishments, Air Force Stations and civil aviation centers are also undertaken to give cadets first - hand experience of aviation activities. #5 Training at Air Force Academy
After successfully completing training course from NDA you are admitted to Air Force Academy located at Dundigal in the state of Telangana.

In this academy, candidates from all the fields of armed forces are trained. The following are the types of training conducted at the academy:
  • Flying training
  • Air Traffic Control Officers' training
  • Ground Duty Officers' training
  • Joint Services training
